review: ofra long lasting liquid lipstick

Happy Monday, loves! I haven’t been as active on social media lately because I’m working on a huge project for the blog so please forgive me. I ordered the Ofra long lasting liquid lipsticks off of hautelook a few months ago. On the lipstick it says if you use the code “hautelook” at your checkout on ofra’s website you can get some money off!

prices range:

$19.90 at

If you follow any of the major beauty bloggers, you’ve probably heard them absolutely rave about these lipsticks. When I saw them on hautelook I couldn’t resist putting them to the test myself and I have to say I am very impressed.

These liquid lips are much lighter than most of the other ones on the market. They feel slightly oily when you first put them on but they do dry to a true matte. Since they have that light texture, they don’t dry out your lips like some of others can. With the Colorado dryness, my lips are often a little too dry to wear liquid mattes all day but these are one of only two formulas that doesn’t make me look like a chapped cracking mess (the other will be revealed very soon!).

São Paulo has made its way to the top of my list. It is the perfect nude for my skin tone and by far my favorite nude liquid lipstick. As I discussed in my Kylie matte review, nude liquid lips often turn much darker than they look in the tube and i don’t have that problem with this one.

I like the true mattes more than the more metallic mattes. I find that Times Square, Fifth Ave, and Hawaii Tropical are less pigmented than the others. I bought these mostly for more creative looks and using them around my eyes but they aresuper oily and you have to apply multiple layers to get it to an intense color. Since they are oily, you have to wait for the first layer to dry before you apply another otherwise you end up just moving the pigment around and it ends up a little patchy. I believe these more shimmery matte shades may have been reformulated since the versions I bought so the rumor is they are more on par with the formula of the regular matte shades.

Ofra carries a huge shade range and I will definitely eat looking into more of their matte shades! I highly recommend giving them a shot, they are by far the most comfortable lipsticks I’ve owned.

review: kylie lip kits

Happy Monday, loves! This week  we are gonna take a look at the lip line the lip legend herself created. We will have a new post Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! For about two months I have been testing out Kylie Cosmetics products and gathering my opinions. I waited quite a while to post a review because her products were nearly impossible to get a hold of and every launch sold out within minutes. In the past few weeks Kylie has increased her output and all her products are much more readily available than before!

Today we take a look at the first product she released, her lip kits. The lip kits include a lip liner and liquid lipstick that come in 18 shades and retail for $29 on You are now able to purchase the lip liner separately in seven shades for $14.00. You can also purchase the matte liquid lipstick separately in seven shades for $17.00. The authentic Kylie products are only available on

I purchased the lip kit in exposed. Exposed is described as a warm mid tone beige. This was her most nude toned shade from the original launches that is now complimented by Maliboo which is a more cool toned nude.

As I’m sure many of you have heard there was quite the controversy over Kylie’s lip products being Colourpop lip products just in different packaging. Some sources claim this has been debunked and others claim that they both use the same manufacturers so it is all the same product. I really don’t care to weigh in much but in my experience the products didn’t seem exactly the same. All of this drama between makeup companies lately is just really unnecessary and pathetic as far as I’m concerned but I’m getting off track here.

I absolutely love the lip liner from the kit. it is so creamy and feels much more comfortable than most on the lips. The texture is similar to the colourpop liners but it is not nearly as patchy as the colourpop ones can be when you fill in your whole lips.

The liquid lip feels very liquid in texture and takes a little longer to dry than some of the other ones I own. It is fairly drying but most matte long wearing lips are. I just suggest putting on a Chapstick before you apply the product. I don’t think the Kylie lip lasts as long as some of my others such as Anastasia but that one is way more drying than the Kylie. It will still last many hours but my Anastasia will last literally all day without budging.

My biggest downfall of this lipstick is the color. I chose Exposed because of all the incredible pictures on Instagram. I had seen Kylie wear it in dozens of pictures. I had seen swatch videos and hundreds of pictures of customers and PR faces wearing it. Sure it looked different on various people but it always looked like it was in the nude realm of shades.

This color looks nothing like what it does in the tube. In the packaging (which does show the actual product) it looks like a warm peachy nude, once it touches my lips it is a very “mid toned” brown. It isn’t a lip I could wear every day because it dries as quite the statement lip. At first I thought maybe it was just me and my skin tone and my lip pigmentation and what not but I soon heard from other friends who had the exact same problem. I actually find this change in shade a lot in nude liquid lipsticks but the fact that some people had a nice everyday shade and some ended up with a bold brown shows inconsistency in the product which I think is unacceptable especially at those prices.

My recommendation would be to look into the lip liners individually if you are looking for a little splurge and go with a judgement call on the actual lipstick. I would definitely stay away from exposed but inconsistency problems aren’t as prevalent in the other shades. If you’d like me to take a look at some of the other shades or newer releases from Kylie such as her eyeshadows and liners, leave a comment!

As always please recommend any other products you would like to see me test out! Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog on the right hand side of the page, so you receive updates when I post. Thanks for all the love & support. Talk to you Wednesday with my next Kylie lip review, loves.

review: l’oreal infallible pro-matte gloss

Our next product on our liquid lipstick train stops at the l’oreal infallible pro-matte gloss. Although this product doesn’t directly name itself a liquid lip, the product description claims it is as matte as a liquid lip without drying your lips out, hence the “gloss” aspect. There are 10 varying shades in the range.

prices range from:

$7.99 at

I bought all ten shades (& accidentally 2 of nude allude, so please excuse the extra swatch). I decided to test out forbidden kiss for a sunday at work. I put it on at 11am before I walked into work. It applied kinda patchy on the first swipe so had to do another layer which made it much darker than I expected. It was very wet and didnt look the slightest bit matte. Thinking back to the revlon lipsticks, I figured it may take a little while to become matte.

Throughout the day, I would peek at a mirror and the lip was still not matte. After everything had settled down, I look a good look at the lip and it was sticky and looked as if I was wearing a very pigmented gloss. I asked my coworker what she thought of it and said it wasnt her favorite lip. When I told her it was meant to be matte, she couldnt believe it because it had been at least 6 hours and still looked like a gloss.

If you are looking for a very pigmented gloss then this would be a perfect cheap alternative. In some ways, it reminds me of the anastasia beverly hills glosses because it is so pigmented and very shiny. But all in all I was disappointed because it was marketed as matte and in actuality was nothing like how it is advertised. Im not much of a gloss girl so this one isnt for me but if you want a pop of glossy color, there are some great shades for spring and summer!

As always let me know what you’ve thought about the product if you’ve given it a try. Expect a new post next friday. Please give me any suggestions for products I should try, reviews or posts you’d like to see. Thank you for your support

review : nyx liquid suede

Lip trends for the past year have revolved solely around matte liquid lipsticks. Liquid lipsticks have been on the market for quite some time. I remember years ago getting a sephora deluxe sample of a Stila liquid lipstick. With Lolita and pretty much every Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick trending all over the internet, the long-last formula skyrocketed in popularity. Lucky for makeup addicts, a rise in popularity means a rise in selection. Every brand on the market has to keep up with the trends and start making their own versions. For any beauty ballin’ on a budget, the drugstore has come out with tons of exciting new options that have a much cooler price tag then ABH $20 lipsticks.

To start my journey into drugstore lips, I put the NYX liquid suede to the test. There are 12 shades in the range (I have every color but vamp & soft-spoken ). The line has everything from your understated nude, to your vampy burgundy, to your the biggest statement colors.

The prices range from:

$7.00 on

$6.99 on

I tested out the color Cherry Skies for a full day of classes. I applied it at 9am without a lipliner because the best liquid lip should stay in place without help. It applied smooth and dried within 10 mins which is a major key because I rub my lips together all the time and usually end up smearing the inner portion of my lip color until it is gone. After classes were over and I got home  at 12:30pm, I checked my lipstick and it was perfectly matte and had not budged a millimeter since I applied it over 3 hours before! It also hadn’t made my lips feel dry yet which was an accomplishment in itself because it was the middle of a Colorado winter that steals every drop of moisture from your body.

Impressed, I headed off to lunch with my roommate where we ate some very greasy dining hall pizza and still the lipstick stayed in place! I then proceeded to take an approximately 5 hour nap 😁 where i rolled around all over my white bedding and woke up to perfectly clean sheets (i am as shocked as you are, I expected a blood bath). Again I ate some very greasy dining hall pizza (yes, again) and was back in my dorm around 6:45, by this point the lipstick had dried my lips out a little and smeared from the grease. I finally took it of but it lasted over NINE hours looking nearly perfect. So i give this liquid lippie a big 👍🏻

Let me know what you’ve thought about the product if you’ve given it a try. You can expect more drugstore liquid lipstick reviews coming. Please give me any suggestions for products I should try, reviews or posts you’d like to see. Thank you as always
