Welcome back loves! Today we are taking a look at Tati Beauty’s debut product in the Textured Neutrals eyeshadow palette. For those of you who don’t know, Tati Westbrook is one of the biggest beauty Youtuber’s in the industry and has always been a huge inspiration of mine because she refuses to bend her opinions and loyalty to her viewers in favor of brands and affiliations. When she first introduced this product I wasn’t entirely sure I absolutely needed it because I have so many palettes with these colors but after hearing that the texture of the shadows was life changing, I had to see for myself!

The textured neutrals palette has 6 different shades in 4 different finishes. Each shade comes in a matte, sequin, metallic, and glitter. The way Tati set up this palette is unique and logical. The fact that people haven’t used this kind of set up before is kind of baffling because it just makes so much sense. Sorting the palette by color and texture is not only appealing to the eye but helps in ease of use because you are able easily know where the shadow you are looking for is. I think it also can be inspiring to every level of artist because if you can understand the basics of using each texture of shadow you can mix up the colors you are using.
The Tati formula is probably my second favorite formula I have tried, with Natasha Denona being the first but lets be honest this price is much friendlier towards all of our budgets. The shadows are intensely pigmented but so smooth and buttery to blend that even a certified novice can make a beautiful look with it. The mattes are intense and blend in a way that most people are unable to achieve, they are never choppy or uneven and look smooth effortlessly. The matte black is hands down the best most pigmented and blendable on the market.
The most surprising texture in this palette to me is the sequin. I didn’t think I would enjoy the sequin because that is not a texture of shadow I generally am drawn to but this version really brings something unique. It is like an amped up matte that blends just like one but has subtle and sparse micro glitter in it to seamlessly blend your mattes and metallics or glitters into a single look. I think it is perfect to use as a blending tool to take any look to the next level. It is also great for people who are maybe a little intimidated to use metallics or very high shine shadows as a kind of ease into a little sparkle.
The metallics in the palette are actually my least favorite texture in the palette. That’s not to say they aren’t great because they are but they are not revolutionary like some of the other formulas feel. I definitely recommend using your fingers or a wet brush with them for some maximum reflect.
The glitters in this palette are excellent. I haven’t seen any pressed glitters that I enjoyed this much. You don’t need to use a glitter glue for them to stay on the lids but that’ll reduce some fallout during application. The glitter is best applied with your fingertip in a pressing motion. I really appreciate that the reflects in these glitters are so multi-dimensional while still holding the color they are meant to demonstrate in palette.
Alright so here are some swatches with and without flash:

So all in all I really only have praise for this palette! I can’t wait to see what colors she comes out with in the next volume and honestly I’m hoping soon she will take the textured approach to more vibrant colors and not just neutrals!
