halloween tutorial: ice queen

Today I was somewhat inspired by the idea of Elsa from frozen. I wanted an ice queen look that looked like I had been taken over by the cold, similar to the white witch from The Chronicles of Narnia.

products used:

nivea mens post shave balm

mac strobe cream

loreal pro glow foundation – 202

kat von d lock it concealer – L3

elf shimmer whip – lilac petal

jeffree star skin frost – ice queen

ardell lashes – 150

duo brush on lash glue

make up for ever flash palette

fake snow

stencils

step 1: prime –  I applied nivea mens shave balm to smooth my skin and prolong my foundation wear. I then added mac strobe cream because I wanted create a really glowy ethereal look.

step 2: foundation – I applied loreal pro glow foundation for an even base.

step 3: concealer – I concealed my under eyes, eyelids, chin, bridge of nose, and forehead with kat von d concealer.

step 4: highlight – I wanted the look to be insanely shimmery and reflective so I applied the elf shimmer whip all over my face and set that with JS ice cold highlighter.

step 5: lashes – I used ardell 150 lashes and painted them white with the white shade from the MUF flash palette. I like the duo brush on lash glue because it is so easy to apply it evenly on the lash band without a mess. I let it dry for  about 30 seconds before actually putting them on my eyes so that they are tacky enough. I press them against my real lashes with tweezers so that you can’t see a distinction line.

step 6: coloring – I mixed the white and blue and light blue from the MUF palette until it came out a light icy blue. I used a paint brush to apply that over snowflake stencils I had gotten at michaels. I applied the stenciled work over the contours of my face and down my chest. I used a beauty sponge to apply the same color over my eyes and undereyes.

step 7: fake snow – I used lash glue to apply fake snow over my brows and lips. I sprinkled fake snow through my braid and over the top of my head. I would probably use a different fake snow than the one I bought if I were to do the look again.

here’s the completed look again:
