For this look I was inspired by the movie Black Swan. I wanted to do a look based on the look of Natalie Portman but not exactly, so heres my take on it!
products used:
nivea mens post shave balm
loreal true match lumi – C3, W3
sephora gel serum concealer – 01 bavarian cream
coty airspun loose powder – translucent
anastasia beverly hills waterproof creme color – jet
melt dark matter shadow stack
mac gigiblack mascara – black
ardell lashes – 202
duo brush on lash glue
nars velvet matte lip pencil – cruella
michaels feathers
hobby lobby glitter
step 1: prime – I applied nivea mens shave balm to smooth my skin and prolong my foundation wear.
step 2: foundation – I mixed loreal true match lumi in c3 and w3 for a foundation base. If I did this look again I would probably use a different foundation.
step 3: concealer – I concealed my under eyes, eyelids, forehead, chin, and bridge of nose with sephora gel concealer.
step 4: powder – I set my entire eye area with coty airspun powder.
step 5: eyes – I drew on the angular eyes by starting with an outline that started at a really pointed inner corner and went up over the brows back to my hairline. I used abh jet for the whole black portion of the eyes. I filled in the outline using a paintbrush to speed up the process. I set the cream with melt dark matter shadow. I then packed a black glitter from michaels all over the black wing eyes. (keep in mind these are not cosmetic glitters so they are not ‘safe’ to put around the eye area. if you have sensitive eyes or are concerned about not using a safe glitter, check out violet voss brooklyn glitter instead).
step 6: mascara – mac gigiblack mascara is my go to for darkening my lashes before falsies because it still looks natural enough to blend with lashes.
step 7: false lashes – I used ardell 202 lashes. I like the duo brush on lash glue because it is so easy to apply it evenly on the lash band without a mess. I let it dry for about 30 seconds before actually putting them on my eyes so that they are tacky enough. I press them against my real lashes with tweezers so that you can’t see a distinction line.
step 8: lips – I wanted soft red lips and most of my reds are super intense so I used nars cruella for my lips.
step 9: I wanted to add to the swan effect, so I took black feather with silver glitter from michaels and bobby pinned them into my hair to surround my entire face.
I am providing pictures of some of the products so that you can find similar products and colors in your own collections! These are just the products I use but you can substitute in anything really and still look fierce. If any of you recreate these looks please tag me in them so I can see all your beautiful faces!! Ill be back tomorrow with another halloween look. Don’t forget to check back!
